What a fantastic day for me, being with Jennifer on my birthday at Grandparents Day. For these to coincide with one another is what dreams are built on.
I have followed her path since she entered Bramley School, information from my daughter Carol & son-in-law David, and visits with them.
Jennifer cannot wait for the next school day, she is eager to learn, and is gradually mastering writing. I see a difference in her from week to week. It is granddads lot to sit with her and listen to her read the book given by the teacher on the day. She also loves to dabble with the paint brush trying to keep within the lines.
I was touched with emotion when she took my hand yesterday and led me behind a tree in the garden, so no one could see,and sung “Happy Birthday” to me. Coming out, I saw a smile on Mrs Dearlove’s face, and said;- “Did you hear that?”
Thank you for the opportunity to be at Bramley and witness Jennifer and all the other grand children at work & play. I’m sure all the other grand parents enjoyed their morning.
For two of us grand parents… it was a small world, we hadn’t met for approximately twenty years, so we were able to catch up on time gone by.
May your school go from strength to strength.
