Bramley School Mission Statement and Main Aims

‘Bramley School is a non-denominational school with a Christian ethos and is committed to ensuring that girls reach their full potential in terms of their physical, academic, creative, social, emotional and spiritual development. The school provides a happy environment where the girls grow in self-confidence and become responsible, adaptable and caring members of the community.’

We aim to achieve this by:

  • providing small, single-sex classes that enable teachers to acquire a very good knowledge of the children they teach, and give teachers the best opportunity to address their pupils’ individual needs;
  • providing a broad, modern, balanced and challenging curriculum, enriched by extra-curricular activities, that promotes thinking skills, provides for equal opportunity and addresses the differing needs of the girls;
  • enabling all girls to grow in self-confidence by fostering their talents, helping them recognise their own self worth, developing their ability to communicate effectively and giving them opportunities to express their individuality;
  • promoting the social skills the girls need to develop relationships and collaborate with others, and instilling the need to show appropriate respect towards the attitudes, cultures and beliefs that they encounter;
  • encouraging the girls to be independent in taking responsibility for themselves and their learning;
  • establishing a positive, fair discipline policy with clear rules, that reinforces appropriate behaviour;
  • developing the girls’ awareness of the wider community and their rights and responsibilities within it;
  • creating a safe, supportive and stimulating environment where health and safety guidelines are made explicit to everyone.

Bramley School welcomes girls from all cultural and religious backgrounds.

The School would seek to meet the needs of pupils who have a statement of Special Educational Needs and for pupils whose first language is not English.
